The entries to A/BPU British Powerlifting Union Full Power British 2026 are having a last-minute surge and we are soon up to 450 individual competitors as the clock ticks towards midnight tonight, the final cut off.
Combine that with the 350ish individual competitors at the A/BPU British Powerlifting Union Single Lifts British Championships 2026, and this year we have 800 individual competitor entries on a British Championship level.
800!
That is even with the high qualifying totals that were pushed up 2 years ago in order to bring down the over subscription of the A/BPU British Championships which had reached 8 days.
In 2015 the British Championships had, single lifts and full power combined, 93 lifters. 10 British Championships later that number is almost 10-fold.
Not only that; with AWPC home team bound to be huge, 150 people already visiting Ireland for Europeans, and the WPC team to Louisiana looking to grow bigger than expected, we will for the first time ever surpass 400 lifters going to internationals in one year!
In 2015 we didn’t even have 400 members!
That does put things into perspective. 13 years of graft, volunteers, hard work and perseverance, and here we are.
We are heading straight towards a week of high calibre lifting at the A/BPU British Full Power Championships 2026!
4 weeks to impact!
Shields on full!
